For countertops, the standard is a thicker slab, around 1.25 inches (3cm), for strength and a substantial edge, and that is what we fabricate to. Most countertop projects run about one to two weeks from template to expert installation, depending on the material and the size of the job. You get the same experienced team and the same craftsmanship on a single vanity as on a full custom kitchen countertops project.

Quartz is engineered stone, non-porous, low maintenance, never needs sealing, and gives you a consistent look, but it is more sensitive to heat. What is the downside to a quartz countertop?
Mainly heat. A very hot pan set straight on quartz can scorch or discolor the surface, so you use a trivet. Some quartz can also be affected by long-term direct sunlight, so it is not our first pick for a fully exposed outdoor kitchen. For an indoor kitchen, those tradeoffs are easy to live with, and the low maintenance is hard to beat.
What quartz goes with Alabaster (off-white) cabinets?
Warm off-white cabinets like Alabaster pair well with a creamy or soft-white quartz for a seamless look, or with a quartz that carries gentle grey or greige veining if you want contrast and a little movement. There is no single right answer, it comes down to your floors, your backsplash, and the light in the room. We are happy to lay slabs against your cabinet sample to find the perfect match.
How much should I expect to pay for granite or quartz countertops?
Price comes down to the material and the specific slab you choose, your square footage, the edge profile, and extras like a full-height backsplash or a waterfall island. Can I use Dawn dish soap to clean granite or quartz?
Yes. Warm water and a little mild dish soap like Dawn is the standard daily cleaner for both natural stone and quartz. Skip anything abrasive.
Should you use Clorox or bleach wipes on granite?
We do not recommend them for regular use. Bleach and harsh cleaners break down the sealer on granite over time and can dull the polished finish. Use mild soap and water day to day, and a stone-safe cleaner when you want to disinfect. More on caring for your countertops on our blog, coming soon.
