What areas of Dallas do you serve?
All of Dallas and the surrounding Dallas County. That covers the older east-side neighborhoods like Lakewood, the M Streets and Munger Place, the Bishop Arts side of Oak Cliff, and north through Preston Hollow and Far North Dallas, including 75204, 75206, 75214, 75218, 75230, 75248 and 75287. Can you work in an older Dallas kitchen that is not square?
Most of them are not. A 1920s bungalow in Lakewood or a Munger Place remodel has settled walls, out-of-plumb corners and cabinet runs that drift, and a counter cut off a drawing will not sit right in that. We template to your actual space rather than to a floor plan, which is the whole reason the crew that measures is the crew that cuts. Older homes also need an honest look at the cabinet base before stone goes on it, and we will tell you if it needs shoring up first.
Do you install in Dallas high-rises and condos?
Yes, and we plan for it up front. Uptown and Turtle Creek buildings usually mean a service elevator booking, a certificate of insurance on file with the building, and a delivery window rather than a whole day. Tell us the building when you reach out and we will handle the scheduling side with management, so install day is not a surprise to anybody.
How soon can you come measure?
Reach out and we will usually call back the same day to set up a measure. From template to install, most projects run about one to two weeks depending on the stone and the scope. One in-house team handles the whole process, so it stays on schedule and we keep you posted at each step. Working to a closing date or a contractor's timeline? What is the downside of quartz?
The quartz countertops Dallas homeowners choose are low maintenance, but they are not right for every spot. Quartz handles everyday heat yet is less heat tolerant than natural stone, so a hot pan straight off the burner can mark it without a trivet. Long stretches of direct sun can dull the color over time, which matters for a west-facing window run or an uncovered patio, where granite is the safer pick. On very long counters you may see a seam, and because it is engineered you do not get the one-of-a-kind variation of natural stone. For most indoor Dallas kitchens, though, quartz is hard to beat on upkeep.
Do my new countertops need sealing?
Quartz does not, ever. It is non-porous, so there is nothing for a sealer to do. Granite and marble are natural stone and do want periodic sealing to keep stains out, often about once a year depending on the slab and how hard the kitchen gets used. We seal before we leave and show you how to check it yourself: put a few drops of water on the surface and see whether it beads or soaks in over a few minutes. When it soaks in, it is time.
What quartz goes with off-white or Alabaster cabinets?
Alabaster is a soft, warm off-white, so it pairs beautifully with a warm-white or creamy quartz carrying gentle gold or taupe veining, which keeps the kitchen light without going flat. If you want contrast, a greige or warm-gray quartz grounds the cabinets without pulling cold, or you can take the island darker for a focal point. Bring your cabinet door to the yard and we will hold it against real slabs so you can see the match in your own light rather than on a screen.
